The Elephant In My Room
A few weeks ago, I had a breakthrough I did not want to have but knew I would have to. It all began with the unplanned, un-researched, intuitive decision of enrolling in Marie Forleo's B-School (best decision ever).
As I was putting together the pieces of my new online business, I (reluctantly) realized that my experience of living with a CHRONIC ILLNESS (40 glorious and difficult years with ulcerative colitis and its after effects) would have to be part of my message. Whaaaat? Yikes! Ouch! Holy moly! @*#&! (What about my lifetime of perfecting skirting the issue?)
At the time, I shared a couple raw videos in B-School’s private facebook group. The overwhelming response of resonance, gratitude and cheering-on CHANGED MY LIFE. Incredibly, I’ve decided to share these videos (below) here too! (What the heck is happening to me!)
So here it is: I’m coming out! And not only will my experience of living with a chronic disease be part of my message, I’m making that message my business! I’m diving in! There is no looking back. Having a chronic illness has made me who I am, and only now do I fully realize it has given my life meaning and depth and purpose too. This moment is why my life was lived.
My life was lived to be shared.
Kept to myself it is but useful to one; shared, it is of use to others.
MORE COMING SOON
I have great big plans for this website and they are, indeed, coming soon. But reading so many comments where people shared their own (secret) journey of living with a chronic disease and seeing how they gleaned comfort, courage and inspiration from my words, I simply could not wait. I had to get out there and let you know that I’m on my way to you! (also, just in case I lost my gumption, it's now too late. I’m already in mid-air taking the plunge.)
For today, I want to share this:
• Bringing ALL of who you are into the world is doable (it’s actually the best thing you’ll ever do)
• Doing so takes guts, but it’s also immensely freeing (trust me!)
• This thing you don’t think you should share is actually what MAKES YOU, YOU
• If you want to live an authentic fulfilling life, you gotta be YOU
• This world needs you exactly AS YOUR ARE with ALL of WHO YOU ARE
• You can live the life of your dreams NOT IN SPITE of your illness, but BECAUSE OF IT
• You can do it with LOVE, HOPE, FUN, SILLINESS and WONDER.
We can change the world, starting with yours!
Sign-up, I'll let you know as soon as it's available!
You can help me celebrate!

I'm coming out!
Follow-up to The Elephant in my Room: The Chronic Difference Manifesto
Just for fun:
The Green card Happy Dance!
HERE, THERE WILL BE:
No wallowing (on occasion, on our own time, is just fine)
No bitchin' (only when really justified)
No rah-rah-rah (lots of love, definitely, but no cheerleading squad)
No quick fix or magic pill (I'm still figuring this out)
