>>> I WILL NOT LET MY CHRONIC ILLNESS DEFINE ME <<<
Okay, how many times have you told yourself exactly that. It’s become your mantra and lifestyle, right? Nothing wrong with that. You separate your life from your illness. It makes sense. Except it also means you’re living two separate lives and that my friend, is not only cramping your style, it’s slowly killing your spirit (and probably making you sicker too).
Take a breath, tell your ego to go for a walk and keep reading, your (best) life depends on it.
Ready or not here it is: Your chronic illness HAS. DEFINED. YOU.
It’s been your constant companion, it’s been your greatest teacher (not always your favorite, but great), your toughest trainer, it has shaped you into who you are and owning it will set you FREE!
Free to live as YOU.
Free to use YOUR VOICE.
Free to embrace your DIFFERENCE.
You are extraordinary not in spite of, but BECAUSE OF your chronic illness.
It took me 40 years to figure this out and I want to spare you such a long journey.
I want to get you on the road to living THE LIFE YOU CRAVE as soon as possible.
I hope you join me.
The Elephant In My Room
Hello Beauty-full!
A few months ago, I had a breakthrough I did not want to have but knew I would have to have. It all began with the unplanned, un-researched, intuitive decision of enrolling in Marie Forleo's B-School (best decision ever).
As I was putting together the pieces of my new online business, I (reluctantly) realized that my experience of living with a CHRONIC ILLNESS (40 glorious and difficult years with ulcerative colitis and its after effects) would have to be part of my message. Whaaaat? Yikes! Ouch! Holy moly! @*#&! (What about my lifetime of perfecting skirting the issue?)
At the time, I shared a couple raw videos in B-School’s private facebook group. The overwhelming response of resonance, gratitude and cheering-on CHANGED MY LIFE. Incredibly, I’ve decided to share these videos here too (The Elephant in my Room Part I and II)! (What the heck is happening to me!)
So here it is: I’m coming out! And not only will my experience of living with a chronic disease be part of my message, I’m making that message my business! I’m diving in! There is no looking back. Having a chronic illness has made me WHO I AM, just has it has made you WHO YOU ARE and we must, each of us, really really get this. It’s the only way to live a truly authentic, fulfilling life.
Here I am, ready to open up. Strong yet vulnerable, sometimes exhausted but unstoppable, at once inspired and scared.
My life was lived to be shared.
Kept to myself it is but useful to one; shared, it is of use to others.
MORE IS COMING SOON, but I had to let you know that
I’m on my way to you!
MANIFESTO. READ THIS. STAND TALLER.
I wrote this manifesto for US, the chronically different.
It is empowering. It will give you the courage and confidence to live as WHO YOU ARE. (You may want to watch the Elephant in my Room: Part II below)
